Our Savior Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the ELCA.  We “walk with” other ELCA congregations of the Nebraska Synod in ministry efforts from Scotts Bluff to Omaha, Valentine to Falls City.  We are only 15 years old, but our history dates back over 100 years. We are Redeemer Lutheran Church and St. Paul Lutheran Church together now as OSLC.

Our ministry in Wayne and the surrounding area is sharing the good news about God in the manner and method that same good news about God was shared by Jesus.  We don’t measure up, but the Holy Spirit continues to encourage us, lead us, in the right pathways of grace and mercy.

Hungering to help the hungry?

We worship at 6 PM each Saturday night and at 8 AM and 10:30 AM each Sunday. We gather mid-week for worship during Advent (December) and Lent (Spring) as well as on church holidays including Christmas, Holy Week prior to Easter, and secular holidays such as Thanksgiving.  We have an excellent Sunday School program for children and youth with access to one of the best summer camps in the world!  Activities and ministries for adults are plentiful and provide meaning and friendships that can last a life-time.

About the Photo
Lutherans baptize infants in accordance to Jesus’ command to baptize the nations, of which babies are a part; and to “let the children come to me (Jesus), and forbid them not.” Lutherans understand baptism “sacramentally” that is, something God does. That is different than many Christian approaches to baptism that understand the believer is doing the believing and giving. Lutherans call baptism a means of grace, or a way that God’s love comes to us from God. Luther writes in his Catechism (book of instructions) that our response to baptism is to “thank, praise, serve, and obey” God the Father, Son, and Spirit.
