WELCA Purpose
As a community of women, created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society and the world.
Goals
- Implement and inform the women of the congregation about Mission Growth, Community and Action.
- Implement and encourage increased attendance and/or to begin a new circle group.
- Implement and encourage individual circle projects to enhance spiritual growth.
Care, Share, Prayer
Our overall theme for 2011 is Bold Women and the theme for our Spring Gathering is “Serve with Zeal” (Romans 12:11) – Do not lag in zeal, be ardent in spirit, serve the Lord.. We pray that you will come and participate each month. Don’t forget to bring a sister in Christ, who has been inactive or one who is new to our church community of women.
Your sisters in Christ,
WELCA Executive Board
Christian Service Groups
There are certain times in the life of the congregation or individual families when our help as a congregation is needed. The Christian Service Groups have been organized to respond in times of need (funerals, weddings, congregational events, etc.). As part of the Our Savior family, we all have a responsibility to help. All church families are placed on one of six service groups. There are times when you may be called to help more than once in a short period of time, but there are times when you are not asked for several months.
